6. Select the POP option at the top, and proceed to enter in all of the settings below, obvioulsy using the correct info that pertains to your email/hosting account. When you are finished entering in your information, click Save at the top right corner of the screen. Your iPhone or iOs device will attempt to connect your mail server and verify your settings. Often this can take a while and you may even receive a notice saying that iOs cannont verify the account and asking ‘would you like to continue?’, choose yes until your device verifies your settings. (It may take several tries initially…don’t blame us, we didn’t write their software)

Now, having said that…

If after adding your account you are unable to send email, please follow the instructions below to verify all of the Outgoing settings in your iOs device.

1. Go back to the Settings menu from your iOs home menu and choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars

4. Select your mail server under the Primary Server section (We agree that some of these steps seems redundant but we didn’t write Apple’s software)

5. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure Server is set to ON, SSL is set to OFF and that Authentication is set to Password. You will not be able to send email if any of these settings are incorrect. Select Done when you have verified that all settings are correct.

6. Go back to your account screen and this time, select Advanced

7. You have to once again verify that SSL is OFF, Authentication is set to Password and additionally verify that S/MIME is OFF. (Again, don’t blame us, we didn’t write Apple’s software)

You should now be able to send email from your iOs device. 🙂
